Top end only; not worth it really. If you want to bore you really need to look at the bottom end too, this will allow you to make the most out of the top end. Problem is this then adds to the cost...

My little baby - M4 Titanium System, Dyno Jet, BMC Filter, JHS Cams, Manual CCT, Over Sized Valves and Race Springs, Billet Crank and Con Rods, Oil Cooler....

So.

  1. It does work, but the differences are so marginal (1.5 bhp, or 2% peak power) that the mere mortal wouldn't notice.
  2. The price of a g-pack or tre is outrageous for what it is (a resistor) and if you do it, do-it-yourself
  3. If the gains are percentage rather than just 1.5bhp whatever the state of tune, the higher tune you have the more worthwhile it is (although probably still undetectable as per 1 above)
The JHS Dynos show the above and more.

I know all about the JHS dyno print outs, many of them were most likely my bike or engine at some point. The G-Pack doesn't offer you a full bhp, the print out you posted compares 3rd and 4th gears with one fitted but no before and after for you to compare if it works. The way these products work is by tricking the bike into thinking it is in a higher gear, the thing is how does that work on a standard bike that is hardly retarded in the first place?

I have an SV800, the TRE makes no difference to this engine.

I know zadar even tried the 4 degree advance all across the board and found negligble benefit.

the bikes worth when you get it sorted, think you went wrong buying from GTs they are **********, put it this way as soon as it was 1st service time i was on the phone to suzuki asking if i could use another garage and i wont tell you about my friends "mint" hayabusa that ended up in a few pieces after the "mechanics fitted new brake pads, took it for a test ride only to find the pads pop through the fender when he tried to stop. Oh and if you wanna hear anymore stories about them just ask got plenty more
i would pop over bridge and have a chat with them as they are a suzuki dealer they should be able to help, if you dont get much luck there i would recomend 2wheel technics in plymouth

You no longer want the bike because it's running rough where there's no power anyway?
