Oil boiler is the old school gixxer ... 1985-1995 600, 750 and 1100 slabside and slingshot models... oil cooled, cradle frame.
1992 WN also had a really nice swing arm (least one side was nice, all curvy). Great bikes, nice rush of power up the top end. My dad loved his WN

GSXR is for me

More comfortable

Has superior brakes

Has Superior suspension

Its more challenging to ride. I could the SV with the throttle pinned alot of the time, esepcially on a road I know well. I cant do that on the GSXR I have to think about where and when to open the throttle also I have to be much smoother when winding the throttle on.

I like the twitchy chassis and the much better level of feedback that comes back from the bike ( note I run z6's on the SV and GSXR )

I like the pin sharp turn in on the GSXR look at the corner and nudge the bars and its there. Want to change line mid corner. yep no problem.

It just feels alive, whereas the SV feels dull, slow, lumpy and uncivilised, but I guess alot of that is comparing a 36K SVSk1 that was tired against a K5 GSXR-750 that I've owned and pampered since new. Also alot of that is the comparision between a twin and an IL4.

I've ridden my other halfs K5 SVS and I feel the same way about that. If I only had to have one bike it wouldnt be an SV. I'm not saying the SV is a bad bike, for the money its brilliant, its just not what I want froma a motorcycle anymore. But then it got me to where I am now and I wouldnt enjoy my GSXR as much as I do if I hadnt learnt alot of lessons and gained experience by riding my SV.

exactly my thinking on the matter.

Althought I will be moving the other way, newer SV to older GSXR, I think the results should be exactly the same

As good a bike as the sv is,any gsxr from when they were first brought out(early/mid 80's)is always going to smoke an sv(650).

If you want to know which is best, then i guess that's always going to come down to personal taste & possible biased opinions.

I want a 7/11 too Proper engine that. I'm not really a fan of the modern inline 4, but then I reckon the SV has one of the best real-world engines out there so I'm probably not that good a judge of machinery!

When set up right, big uns "got a torque curve so smooth as to be like surfing a wave of custard" lol.

Have you got any idea what a 7-11 ends up weighing wet?

Nah, because absolutely everyone who builds one lies about the weight Streetfighters ran one a while back which they claimed was under 160 kilos wet... Aye right.

PFfff id be willing to bet that is RUBBISH. That would put them in a similar state of weight as the old 990 GP bikes. LOL.

Anyway. Going for more cc's does make the bikes more fleable and easier to ride. They also gain a fair bit more power which is obviously interesting. Also most bikes have better equipment (suspension & brakes etc) which makes them easier to ride and usually more enjoyable.

IMO get a 1000cc V-twin

I bet the paddle out and accelerating on to the wave is pretty tricky with custard, not to mention cleaning your wetsuit at the end of the session.Give me plain old salt water anyday.

PS Looking forward to a GSXR 750 myself not long to wait...

the 2000 gsxr weights in at 166kg or somthing, so not hard to get that down to 160kg if you make it naked.
