Oil filter removal tools are a waste of time all you need is a strong flat head screw driver and a hammer.

Drive it through smack it take it out repeat. once loose spin the filter off by hand ( use a cloth there will be oil everywhere and sharp pieces of metal). just becareful not to hit the thread but in the middle.

then to put the new one on i just do what everyone else does.

all the best

So tool on, spin it with ratchet is not worth it compared to getting a sweat on, getting oil everywhere and probably cutting yourself on the demolished filter?

I'll keep the tool cheers.

Also I've removed some filters fitted by dealers, it seems with an impact gun, where the filter was on so tight a screwdriver was just making a slot instead of moving the filter!
