Its a K6 on an 07 plate. This also explains the price, got it for £2000 with all extras like tax and new back tyre.... There was a K5 for sale at the same place for about £3000, admittedly it had a very nice exhaust system on it.

Just got some touch-up paint the other day for it so hopefully will be able to disguise the damage.

How long you had your beauty? Have you been riding long?

wow thats a real bargain... what damage is on it? i officially owned it for 11 days before the crash, but had only been insured on it for 4. been riding on the road since 16 but been riding off road snce i could walk, done the odd advanced riding course and the whole family are bike fanatics, so thankfully im not your average 19 year old who jumps from a ped to a bike bke who hasnt got a clue, unlike my mate from barrow who rides a yellow 99 sv. god he scares me.

Considering how much it would have cost to put it right, i suppose you can call it a write off, basically every panel has a scratch of some sort on it, the worst is the side bits of the top fairing, for some reason the previous owner manage to drop it lightly on both sides?!? To get it back in mint condition it would need a respray, new gear lever and maybe some new mirrors. I still can't believe he catd' it!

Thats horrid, not even long enough to get to know the SV. You sound like my type of rider, i have a mate you rides like a right tw*t, he scares the hell out of me too. lol sound like a right old woman!

I wanted to do an advanced riding course but need to save some money first. :P

yeah there seems to be more sv's in the area than i thought, the mother has a k1 sv, me and mate have 99 curvys, you with a pointy, and rusty with a 99 naked, and a few others scattered about, seems to be getting quite a group of us will deffinatley have to get some ride outs going, yeah i did about 600 miles in the 4 days i could ride it, but 4 days is no time to get used to the bike, the funniest thing was they offered e a courtesy bike when i was on crutches...

Looks like we'll all be spending time in the garage! Don't think my MOT will be happening by Wednesday when it's due, I thought I'd save a few quid and buy a chain kit from the web, but they've sent it minus the front sprocket, very annoying

You've done very well at £2000. I've just paid £1300 for my 99 curvy. I was tempted by a pointy but could'nt find one anywhere near my budget. I can't knock it so far though (touch wood), only cost £100 to insure and impressed how well it goes, hanging on is the only issue without the fairing

I would if i had a garage! Will have one very soon though Just fitted my new chain and sprockets and they feel wonderful, didn't realise what a difference they make, soooooo smooooooooooth and i now get 20 more miles to a tank, whats that about?

God i wish my insurance was that cheap, mine was about £200 tpft and i am a girl (not as fast as you men )!

was it the original endless chain? Mine is and although it's fairly knackered I'm reluctant to cut it in case I need a emergency replacement. I can't see any way to remove it intact without removing the swingarm, and I'm thinking I can't be arsed

I must admit the insurance was a suprise. I've zero no claims and it was £100 fully comp. I got it through KwikFit who I think have just started with bike insurance and were loads cheaper than other quotes. I like to think the age of the bike (rather than me) made the difference

Yeah it was the original chain, my method of hacksaw it off worked quite well! I got my chain and sprockets pretty cheap and think they should last a fairly long time so wasn't too worried about keeping the old one. where did you get yours from?

I will have to check them out when my insurance is due, its obvious that it was so cheap because of the bikes age lol. I even had 2 years no claims on that, probably doesn't help that its outside and not in a garage though

I paid £99 for a Tsubaki X ring chain and steel sprockets from intobikes.co.uk, is that a similar price to you? They seemed to question whether I might have 'misplaced' the missing front sprocket but after me putting them straight on that they say one's in the post, I'll wait and see before I slate them on every forum going.
