yeah but do you have a rusty bike thats the question ?

Last time I saw the Prof's bike it didnt look that bad to me. But it was a while ago.

TBH what did you buy the bike for, did you buy it to nanny it, polish it and keep it nice, Or did you buy it to ride it and enjoy it that way.

Either are fine, for me its made to ride and enjoy riding it, I'd rather spend my time riding than obsessing about whether its going to go rusty.

If you want to help yourself replace all the bolts with stainless items that dont rust, cover it in ACF-50 and never wash it, but then you'll get dirt stuck to the ACF-50 and it'll look disgusting in a completely different way

Rain / water doesnt do massive harm, its riding through winters that does bikes in. The salt they put on roads is terribly corrosive and thats what causes the worst of the damage.

ACF-50 is your friend then. Cover everything metal in it, but dont get it on the brake disks.

Remember if you wash the bike with muc off or any other type of bike cleaner you'll need to re-apply the ACF-50 again as the detergent will remove it.

Spending a bit of time keeping it clean won't hurt just make sure you look after it, but also spend the majority of the time riding

yeah i got a bigass loan for my bike too - back in Jan 2004. It's definitely no longer new but considering i'm very bad at washing it, and it has been winter ridden every year, and kept outside, its not in bad nick.

in this weather i wouldn't worry to much just make sure you wash it regualy and well

its in the winter with salt etc thats the problem

also make sure if using a cover to do it up properly as if wind gets inside it becomes a sv kite lol
