I can understand wanting to do something about it if it was a bunch of kids kicking balls at cars, but whatever it was, why not just call the police? Does he not trust the justice system?

I wonder just how often a responsible adult does ask kids to behave, and they do so without incident. It would be a sad world if we have to call the police every time something in our community needed to be done, and besides, as has already been said they will ask for some evidence which is why he decided to take the photos.

So next time someone needs something done in your area, to raise awareness, they come round to your house and set fire to your car.
They then end up in the local paper, on the bbc and in court.
This then means that they will then get the open forum they needed for their cause.
Its ok for them to set fire to your car as now everybody has heard what they have to say....

Okay then you come up with a way to get anything that you need or want if your under 18, its hard enough once your over 18 and you can vote. I cant belive that people are actually showing sympathy to one of the people that spent your tax money on his own stuff

Voting doesnt get you what you want/need.

Voting is a democratic way of electing a person into a "job" within the government system, be it town, district, county etc.

If you have a valid reason to want something you have to go through the legal and correct channels.
This all takes time (usually a lot) but this is the way modern and civilised man (generialisation, sorry ladies) go about things.
We stopped beating people over the head with clubs millions of years ago and moved on.
Looking laterally at this (one day you will be able to do this too) maybe the guy was an "idiot" (this is your view and not mine) but he did not deserve to be beaten up.
All that happens when an incident like this happens is that "youths" get a worse name for themselves and local councils are less likely to do something for them because "they will only misuse it" or "it will be somewhere for them to cause trouble" (these again are not my views but as I work closely with a youth organisation in my free time its something I tend to hear quite a bit).

VIOLENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER!!!

It just makes you look stupid as you are unable to use your brain before your fist.
