Hmmm if you just want a fatter rear tyre, then take close note of the tyres on all SVs you see. Some tyres are 'fatter' than others due to their design. The Avon Storm I fitted to my VFR was noticeably wider than the Bridgestone BT021 it replaced. Maybe you can get more of the look you want without changing tyre size?

Late-model GSXR rear wheels will fit with a new set of spacers, and a bit milled off of the SV brake caliper carrier, and the GSXR sprocket carrier. The GSXR wheel assembly is a bit lighter as well (although most of the difference is in the sprocket carrier, the wheel itself is still lighter). I've got a K7 750 wheel waiting to be installed on mine when time permits.
Will it spoil the handling? Well my TZ250 had a 5.5" wheel (165 tire granted) and I don't think anyone will claim they're difficult to turn. Nor is it a problem for the GSXR that the donor wheel comes from. If you're really keen you can find Luis on the US SV site -he's selling a conversion kit on ebay.

I actually have a 180 section rear tyre on the stock rim of my K6 SV at the moment.
I actually like the handling. But I have always been a little strange. |

Nowt wrong with doing something different with yer bike instead of riding something that everyone else has got. Form over function eh, search this site for single sided swing-arm converions and you'll see what can be done. And as fizz says, use the search feature to look for 180 section tyre swap as I remember seeing a thread about this subject that tells you all you need to know and plenty of pictures too (think it was listed as gsxr rear wheel conversion or something).
