I can't imagine it being unsafe as long as it was done by some one competent enough. I think that I am good enough to machine it my self and b accurrate enough to make sure it was correct.

And what is bending moment on forks under "oh dear, I'm going to die" braking conditions? What force does this translate to at yokes?
Personally I wouldn't do it.

Making new lockstops is a bit of a PITA too, remember if you use the old yokes and new forks you then get issues with fork spacing and whether the brakes line up right.

Indeed, I think it's fairly stupid though when a £20 part avoids this severe risk and a lot more issues besides though.

The reason the SRAD swap is so common is because it is simplest for the greatest gains.

If you were going to go proper mad just based on performance you'd probably end up with GSXR600/750 K7ish fork bodies with traxxion internals and some of those blue-spot R1/R6 monoblock calipers. Ker-ching!
Problem with SRAD stuff is discs warp. I think TSM has done like 3 sets of them! But speedking does some frikken gorgeous remakes of these for much cheaper than EBC/galfer.
I digress...

Personally I would not want to spend 4 hours or so machining stuff to end up with parts of a lower quality, far higher weight and dubious strength. If you are going for performance then go for it.

do you mean speedking from the US?

yup ive messed up a load of disks, i think they are more bent than anything
i just had one pair straightened by motoliners last week, but i need to take them back as one of the disks was not dead true, should be all ok
aparently flat disks can bend so easy, especialy as i wheelie a load and loads of pot holes in london and on the latest set of disks i had a suffed bottom bearing

now with thoes things sorted out, everything seems so much better

Yes speedking from US.

I think it is stockers do not have enough clearance in rivets so heat creats a twist because inward expansion is not allowed.

For momentum of discs to cause issue they'd have to be fired out of a cannon at something!

Let me know how you get on with the motoliner'd discs, I've got a set to sort myself.
