I tried two sets of Avon's on the SV. I found poor mileage out of them but I seem to be an exception to the rule. The center tread was fine. I found the sides wore out quickly. The fronts were done after 3500 miles. The rear about 6000 miles. Considering they were supposed to be marketed as longer wearing tyres, I was rather disappointed to say the least. However, I found them extremely good in the wet and cold and would probably buy them again to get me through a winter.

i got 5000 from a rear till i got a nail in it (had about 1000 left) the front had about 5500 before the bike got stolen. there was not much difference in grip throughout till the rear started to square off at around 5000 by which time i got a nail in it, front stayed the same shape all the way threw. i dont ride like a loon though.

I'm on 9000 miles on mine at the moment (replaced March last year), and they've got loads of tread left. Started to square off a little, but not enough to affect the handling that much. Bike's used primarily as a commuter, though.
