i went to meet some mates i was on the bike, and i had one, they talked me into a second and third. so the end of the night as they had a fag i pushed my bike to the nearest lamp post and started chaining it up outside the pub and a copper pulls over and thinking im about to ride off they breathalise me, after only just finishing drink a few minutes ago i knew i was going to fail, also knew they couldnt do me as i had been riding i was completely shocked to find i passed the test!!!
3 pints of cider and i still passed a breath test but then about a month later i also found out that local anesthesia's dont effect me, so surgery hurts me more than it should ![]() |

Technically sunshine could have been done anyway for pushing his bike whilst under the influence as it counts as being drunk and incharge of a vehicle (I think!)

1) You can't convert units of alcohol to mg of alcohol per mg of blood because lots of things influence the outcome; gender, weight, hydration levels, food eaten etc and 2) You can't calculate the elimination rate of alcohol because that also varies wildy. I studied this at the college of knowledge and the rates differed from .6 of a unit per hour (your aunt who only drinks sherry at Christmas aunt) to 1.8 units per hour (you uncle who drinks 5 pints at lunchtime and 10 at night) but 3) You only need to lose 2 units of the roughly 5 you consumed to be under the limit. Over 6-7 hours even your aunt can crack that. Here's a poorly reproduced picture from a pamphlet produced by our good friends at the Transport and Road Research Laboratory ![]() Drinking and driving might not be big and clever, but it's not illegal. |

Correct. This has been done to death though. And it's not because the cops "think" you mgiht drive, it's because you are drunk and IN CHARGE of a motor vehicle. |

So if you live in a camper van you could never legally get drunk at home?

You could you would just have to give your key to someone who isn't drinking or secure it outside the vehicle somewhere.
