Eek!

Maybe when I am rich or Carol's band makes it to the big time.

Sadly, I need to do this as cheaply as possible. I hoped that paying thirty quid for a second hand top yoke would make things so easy, because I could just pop a nice bar on and away I go (once I pass my test of course). Still, these things are great learning experience and I have learned a lot in the last few days.

I am still going to do a bar conversion, just have to think about another way.

My mountain bike was so much easier than this! I hated my Rockshox fork, it snapped so I bought a new one by Marzocchi. Doddle! Ahhh, things are so easy when you have an industry standard to work too...

True but then you don't need hydrolic brake cables, throttle, choke and of course the forces involved are considerably greated.

Cheers Mark.

errr...

I have twin pot hydraulic front and rear disk brakes with the 51mm IS mount. I didn't need them, they were just pretty... a voice in my head said buy them.

Anyway, I have just won a 33BHP ECU from E-Bay for under twenty quid, not sure how I go about getting it declared once I am on the bike, but will cross that hurdle later.

I think I can just go and see my local Dealer and get it certified. How easy is it to fit, just plug and Play?

Ha ha, nearly 40 years since I had a push bike, guess they've changed a little.

the law says you have to have a restrictor fitted, but you don't need any paperwork for it, if you really want something, get a £25 dyno run and keep it with the paperwork, and yeah just replace the one already fitted as I understand it.

Cheers Mark.

Mine are Hope C2 originals, bought back in 98 I think, back when I used to say that I would never sell out and buy anything that had an engine.

Plug and play ECU sounds good, getting mightily fed up that other people have to check my bike over... and I have to pay them. Grrrrr Ph well, MOT is only once a year.

I just won my new top yoke on E-Bay, so when that arrives, I may polish it up and get it ready for fitting. The next thing I need is a nice bar, the risers and the new cables. However, Now I have the Yoke, everything else is easy.

I am also awaiting the arrival of my 33BHP ECU. 2010 is going to be an interesting year. My little SV was wonderful when I first bought her, but now she is going to be customised a little more. So far painted side panels that match my favourite Tattoo and now a Bar conversion to do. I am so excited.

Thank you to every one who took time to advise me and a big hug to Ophic for telling me about the Yoke. I love you guys.
