ER6 Similar performance to SV, better tank range and mpg, far more comfortable.

Not just because I'm selling one either

Might be worth a try - had a serious look at them before getting my SV - SV won because of my "Never by a new motor vehicle" policy - i.e at the time a couple of grand cheaper.

ER6's get some good reviews online, like Sosha I would have seriously considered an ER6 if they had been in my "first big bike" price bracket, personally I think they look very good although I do think the screen on the F's looks a bit tacked on at a later date.

Thats the only problem with the ER6 though, it is a "first big bike", a good one like, but still seen as a newbie budget bike. As the OP said he'd had the SV for 8 years its surely time to move on to something a step up and better quality.
