Maybe the mods thought I was some type of trader trying to flog my wares?
i was told you were a dodgy trader and that all your posts should be deleted regardless of what they say

So you knew it was probably the wrong section but you posted it there anyway? In which case that was pretty "dumb" wasn't it?

There is no problem posting these sorts of links as long as it's in the correct section.

You wouldn't be the first trader to post links to ebay auctions which is one of the reasons the rule is there.

If people took more care and time to think about what they're posting and where they are posting it then threads wouldn't be deleted/edited/moved etc by the mod team.

Is it a lot more work for a mod to move it to the gear section, rather than delete it?

Sounds like it was a worthwhile link to have somewhere on the forum. TazDaz, I missed it completely, can you re-post it in the gear section please and I'll have a look?

People don't generally post things in the wrong place on purpose and educating users rather than upsetting them would probably be more constructive. "Sorry if it's in the wrong place", usually means the user is either genuinely not sure if it is the right section, or they know it's not the right section, but don't know where else to put it, so it's their way of asking for it to me moved to the correct place if the mods feel it necessary. "Sorry" usually means exactly that. Most wouldn't write "sorry" if they actually didn't give a **** if it was in the right place or not, they'd just post it with no form of apology.

Just my 2p.

No, I thought it was the best place for it.

Mainly because it was something for sale, and it also states in your rules for the 'for sale' section that you can put clothing items such as gloves, coats etc in there.

The reason I wasn't sure was because it was not a personal item. I didn't think to put it in the Hardware section as I thought that was more for reviews and experiences with products which I wasn't doing.

I thought the for sale section was the place that would get most noticed and therefore help more people! Anyway, I really wasn't that bothered and was only posting as I noticed this thread.

I can easily see why you have the rules, and I'm sure it's irritating and time consuming to have to moderate stuff.

No it's not too much trouble to move threads to the right section but at the time there were a lot of similar kinds of posts (a lot of which cant be seen by anyone other than the mods for that section) so there was a load of modding to do which all takes time.

But the rules also say no ebay links to auctions that are not your own. if you wanted a lot of people to see it you could have easily put it in IB and loads of people would've seen it
