As I have argued with others many times. If it is worth that much, find a buyer.
That's only the case in a perfect market. It was obviously not advertised widely enough (not in this for sale board ) if I have found 5 people willing to have paid more (just unfortunately I missed the option of making the poll public so I don't know who they are )

Oh right, agreed.
I remember when the user identities were fully visible - thought you were referring to them being starred out. People can shill bid with apparently genuine accounts

I voted 'would be worth a look' as I took that to mean I would have put a bid in at or around that price.

I probably wouldn't have paid more and I defo wouldn't have walked away.

Just seemed most appropriate at the time.

Worth a look = interested. Not necessarily going to have a punt

I don't think you've understood YC. You can't buy a decent Curvy for £600. Also you don't have to have a spare engine sitting around in your way, just that if anything happened to this 70K miler you could afford a replacement engine and it would still be cheaper than a Curvy
Ah, I get what you mean . It's a fair point, but with a bike like that I'd be worried about the engine going pop at some point (even though you could get a spare one aswell for the price of a curvy), I think owning a 90s Aprilia rx125 I've had enough engine rebuilds for a lifetime lol.

I'd also be concerned about other bits like the suspension etc that have done 70k and may need replacing at some point. I'd have no idea how long their life would be in miles.

I'm fairly mechanically minded but time is prescious and the last thing I'd want is the sun to be shining and a broken bike with things I don't know how to fix. With a lower mileage bike you'd hope to have more peace of mind. If I bought a bike like that the engine would probably blow and it'd be off the road all summer. Too much of a gamble for me .

The forks and shock are knackered from new, so don't worry about that.

The bearings in back could be expensive. £100 or so to replace (worst case).

IMO to have reached 70k would have had to been cared for and possibly even replaced already, unless you lube them early they're dead by 20k.

But what's the point of going to view something before the auction ends when you have no idea of the final price
Err... So you'll know a) Whether you'd want to bid on it at all, and b) if you do, what your limit is.

Many people have bought bikes from E-bay, nothing wrong with that, but like buying any bike in any manner you'd be unwise to say the least if you bought it unseen.
