I have never registered... some may call me selfish, but I just dont like the idea.

Your a pain in the **** biker (commonly referred to as organ donars by ALOT of hospital staff). Your lying there on the hospital bed, your going to be severly disabled at best even if they can save you... but you have a good strong heart which the 9 year old girl who has been on the waiting list for over a year and is going to die within 3 months could really do with...

Do you think they are going to put as much effort into saving you?

I did notice the other day my girlfriend has the organ donar code on her driving licence card though.

I can't give blood - high blood pressure, and im not a donor.

Fair play to all those that register and hold cards. Just not for me.

I'm beginning to understand why - they are so choosy!

Is it misguided though, there is no proof it is and no proof it isnt. The NHS are certainly not going to admit to it are they.

I know people that work in A&E, I know their opinions and banter about motorcyclists and the reason why they would never ever ride a bike.

If that is what people who work in an A&E department are telling me, then I am inclined to take their word for it and not take the risk.

Self preservation and all that jazz.

I am registered, however have re-registered in my married name.

I also give blood via the blood mobile that comes to work. Last time they didn't want my blood as not been back in the country for 6 months since being in Domican. Appointment booked for when they are next here on the 1st April. Will maybe book in for a tattoo after that as i know I can't give so many months after a tattoo.

1st April will be about my 6th time of giving blood. Drew is on the organ donan registrar but won't give blood. Something I am trying to change as he doesn't have a common blood type.

Fair enough, I have nothing to base it on but my opinion
