Did you do it 3times before getting the first fine or did you get a fine - do it again, get another fine and did it again still. You're one silly billy if its the latter, if its the first then I still dont think you've got a leg to stand on. By agreeing to pay for one, your admitting its wrong therefore you've done a naughty thing 3 times and must pay 3 times.
Is it a new island that one?

I did it 3 times before I received the first notice. I have done the same thing for the last year, I think they just put a new camera up or a new waynecur manning the camera.

It looks like a dedicated pedestrian crossing point, so the keep left sign is nescessary to prevent the public walking out in front of traffic coming the wrong way they were not looking for.

What you thought that the council looked at their bank balance, thought look at all this money we have, lets put some nice pretty bollards in the middle of the road because it might look pretty, not because we want to control the traffic or make things safer or anything?

bloody hell fella......you didnt think it was an offence lol........im not being an ass or anything but when did you pass your test.

Crossing a solid white line.
Driving onto oncoming traffic.
And contravening a directional arrow.......

dont understand why you would make this manouver at all. of course you filter down the outside of the traffic. but if the car at the island hasnt left you a cap then you would surely just wait.

like i said at the beginning im not being funny so dont take my comment to heart but bloody hell lol

I know it carries a potential penalty, though only found out several years after passing my test - it's not one that you tend to hear much about really. However I still do it fairly regularly if I can't get past a car/truck/etc in the LH lane. I don't do waiting! Maybe it's a London thing...

Seems that my regular spots don't have cameras (well for now anyway), but I wouldn't do it if a cop car was there.

Unlucky re the fines btw!

Couple of little islands that tend to get in my way when i'm lucky enough to be on the bike to work (otherwise stuck on a freaking train) temptation is to wrongside them for ahem years, looks like they upgraded the PTZ mount on one as it shot round to track the bike in front of me that went the wrong way round!

Needless to say i'm a bit more paranoid now, admittedly its no points from the local council but at £60 a pop i'd be right fragged off!

On a side note. If you wish to contest a fine, but don't want to pay the doubled fine for not paying within 14 days, pay by cheque and write "paid under protest" on the back, then contest the fine. If you loose, as you have already paid, you wont get stung for the larger amount, but you also haven't accepted that you were in the wrong, meaning contesting is a little easier.

Sucks about that, first time I've heard of the council employing people to bolster their pockets with even more penalty tax money.

Whats the score with contesting the fine? If it was police, I would think about contesting as they normally don't have the time to let their witness down to court but with the council? I'm guessing the photographic evidence is the witness and the powerless magistrates would have no choice but to convict.

you've been caught they've got evidence. If a copper caught ya you'd be £60 lighter and 3 points on license. £60 fine is a good deal. IMO
