see those spring rate numbers?

lb/inch (sometimes give # sign).... if you have a 1lb/in spring it means it will compress 1 inch if you put a pound of force on it. See how 1gen has 510# and 2gen has 430# spring? That means if you put that 2gen hagon in there it will likely be much too soft.


Quality is important, but only if the raw numbers are pretty damn close to correct. There is a WP race shock for sale from GSXR600K2, brilliant quality, but will make your bike handle like crap because it is built for something different.

My tuppence worth,I just replaced the front springs with Hagon and thier oil plus their rear shock running on their settings,the K5 is transformed,cost a bit but I now have the most perfect machine of my 10 years riding.

Cheers for that, well that's a good basis for me to start looking on. Can you wash the spoon next time though please

am i right in saying an 03/04 gsxr 1000 shock will be good enough for my svsk3?

if im wrong tell me, any ill leave technical mods for a later date. =D

But if that WP rear shock is a good enough price, a respring is about 75 quid and if the rider is much lighter or heavier than standard, then they'd need a respring for the new shock regardless if what it is.

.... But no one ever does.

Depends on change in spring, if it is way different then valving will be wrong

Agreed. But a top shelf shock has enough adjustment to handle +/- 2kg per cm in spring rate
