Although my suspension is lowered so not sure if that makes a difference ?
My tyres are the stock BT021`s and the rear is nearly new, and at about 36psi I think.
I only weigh about 9 stone at most with gear on, so might try making the rear suspension softer ?
BT021 is not stock

Don't try making it softer, you'll make it worse. The spring is literally for someone who weighs 6 stone. It's barely stiff enough to cope with the chassis, let alone a rider!

Unless you mean preload, but unless you've got it wound up to full and it's topping out everywhere then that does not change the stiffness.

Yes that advice is sound, but I've experienced the feeling of the back end trying to slip twice in the past few weeks.
First one was poor suspension set up, second one low tyre pressure. I remember it as well first when I've put a gix shock in my sv.

I'm with what was wrote earlier, but first I'd cover the basic stuff, like set up and pressures

Oh I thought the the BT021 was the standard tyres, don`t know why though.
Either way though, are they an ok tyre ? At the price of them they should be.

Just weighed meself geared up, 9.5 stone, must have a heavy helmet.
Yeah I meant preload, but said "softer" because when I got the bike the preload at the back was set to max no.7, so the back end was rock solid. I adjusted it back down to no.3 as per the book, which has made a vast difference, especially riding over loose chippings on the drive.

Lol, I wondered who, if anyone would pick up on that.

Some birds have helmets anyway, like this one ...........................
