OK, Segal was/is a real hard man. he used to be speacial forces and then he was a hitman for the CIA, all true. When he retired from that lark he got a job as a bodyguard to the stars and was protecting Kelly Le Brock (her from woman in red) when she was attacked one night. He did his job and took the attacker down and it happened to be seen by some movie0maker dude who then told him he should be on film. he resisted due to his murky past but the lure of the cash was too much.
All the above is fact and not his PR team making him sound like a hardman.

He is stgill to this day the 3rd highest ranked Aikidoka in the world and the highest outside of Japan.

Here he is back in the day in Japan training the Japs in their own art!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu7aauJuQHY ignore the first few seconds, its not all still pics, just some kick-ass moves lol.

BTW, i know all that cos i started Aikido because of what i saw him do in his films.

Also its not just the accumulation, its the precision in which pressure is directed at key points. I used to do Tai Chi, sped up its a very precise tool for kicking yer opponents butt without doing much. Not that I ever got that far, I did it for posture, pose, and joint control.
Another film I recommend is Tai Chi Master with Jet Li, like all good Asian Cinema films its quite old(1992), but I recently found it in Asda!

Seagal was a CIA bodyguard before starting ( and I use this term loosely) acting and he's been the Assistant Chief of Police in his hometown for the last ten years. Jet Li is nails, as is Jacky Chan, but to be honest, I wouldn't want to get clapped by any of them.
oops miss read it, but still look at him in any film and he seems slow and tired, and i thought martial arts was all about fines ?

spide in that video he just looks to be doing the same thing over and over again ?

All different martial arts have their own "way". Ju-jitsu for example prefers to be on the ground grappling with an opponent. Most other arts take the view that if you're on the ground you've pretty much lost the fight. So its not always about finess or even speed for that matter.

He does seem to be doing the same thing but thats cos he's showing the spirit of aikido, its all about circualr motions and using your opponents speed and strength against himself and using him against his friends too.

If you do a quick you tube of his vids you'll see lots of variations.
