lol cheers for that mark, in future if I've got a choice I'll ask the sender to avoid using citylink or just get it delivered to work...

I tried it when I got back yesterday and the stand does work without the bolt but it's just not as secure as it should be without it and could see the bike tipping off whilst taking it on/off the stand

zap & YC are:

WRONG!

apparently ABBA used to use m6 until 8-10 years ago but then changed to m8... Steve at Abbastands.co.uk has kindly offered to stick a replacement in the post for me free of charge how cool is that? Abba til I die

handy for other people to know in future though I got my garage back now anyway... do you reckon I could build a race bike YC? or would it be dangerous for me to even think about it?

what's the other half?

I can do all the remedial stuff like bleed brakes, overhaul calipers, fit new lines, take front & rear wheels off, change oil & filter, change coolant, get the tank off, access carbs/throttle bodies, could probably even have a stab at changing a rear shock now that I've got space/tools/decent stand to do it with...

It's stuff like carb balancing/TB synchronisation or 'head off' jobs which I've no clue about, but then that's what you're here for YC could prolly also get forks off if needs be but getting them back together safely would be the next learning curve...

owt else I need to know?
