The object with the multi light systems is to give you plenty of notice of the impending need to shift. You don't want the first one to come on at 9500 if you should be shifting then.
On race cars they will often set the first green shift to come on at the bottom of the optimal torque band, going progressively through multiple greens, then amber, and then the last red light to come on at the "you should have changed gear by now" moment.

that was my conclusion from riding the bike, but most people say otherewise.
so if i were going to play by the above rule, then i will leav the green light at 9,5k and put the red light at 10,5k and shift on the red light
