Not made up my mind in the slightest, from what I've seen myself the iphone looks like the most suitable candidate, but wanting to hear if there's any logical reason to choose something else, just because the HTC is best for you doesn't make it best for everyone...

can't speak about the 4, well only to say one of the lads at work has one and thinks it's brill, i have had the 3 and nnd now have the 3gs 16gig, was upgraded as the center button on th 3 started getting sticky after about 10 months, apart from that have had no problems, we know itunes suck, but you don't have to buy anything from them, well i don't edit, the best thing about iphone is, they are so easy to use, simples.

I didnt get a 4 because of the crap about the case and the way you hold it, £500 of phone shouldn't need a case to get signal.
So, I got 16gb 3GS, it's my second one since august, still need to take it back to the apple store when I get 5 mins.

This, my own experience with 2 of them in 4 months of ownership.

LOL, untwist those panties dude, you're entitled to your opinion no matter how statistically flawed it is, but just because you had a problem with one, two or even ten handsets doesn't change the fact that the overall numbers show there's no significantly high rate of failure in any of the current smartphone models...

I dont wear them...

Before you buy, take a look on the iphone forums or google 'no service on iphone', there is quite a few people having issues, not just me.

Yes it does seem that the lone wolfs mind is made up but just wants people to justify his choice.

The same package that I'm one costs £20 per month with a HTC desire and £35 for an Iphone4, its hardly 10% is it, my contract is only 18 months too not two years for Iphone. When you start installing lots of great apps your memory will be used up quite quickly.

Also HTC Desire won mobile of the year against Iphone 4.

If your bothered about the screen resolution there is also the HTC Desire HD.

@ OP: Hmm - it does seem, despite the thread title being "help me pick the right phone" that you've already chosen and just want people to say nice things about what you've already chosen. You appear to be quite hostile to anyone not liking Apple. It never ceases to amaze me what strong reactions - both positive and negative - that Apple manage to generate

Anyways, enjoy your Iphone, I hope it is just what you need

@ Hardhat - The screen res is the only small criticisim of the HTC's that I've seen, and apparently the HD versions do resolve that, as you say.

Very good... That would certainly absolve you of coming up with a reason to buy the HTC, which you seem to be struggling to do...

Desire HD still has lower resolution than the iphone, quoting random prices means nothing to me, I've already seen what I can get from Vodafone, who awarded the "phone of the year" award? and how many apps will it take to fill say 30GB of space...
