No. When I moved home last year I was about to shell out £120 with the Post Office (the only other organisation that can connect a landline for you - and a few quid cheaper than BT) - when someone told me that you don't need a landline connected for Virgin's cable service.

My TV, broadband and home landline are all through Virgin Media - occasional wobble here and there, but generally I'm perfectly happy with them.

I don't get virgin pone as it is damm expensive, they have the nerve to charge a line rental and a connection charge, neither of these I pay because I use voip. I simply pay for my calls my average bill being about £3/month.

The connection charge soon racks up as the kids would phone their friends every couple of minutes, hang up if it was the answer machine and think they had not been using any time therefore no cost. In reality it was costing 6p per call. I know it is cheken feed but they do it several times/minute accross 10 mins by hitting the redila last number button and suddenly you have clocked up a couple of quid

Seen them installing their super fibre stuff at the end of my street. Not interested in having anything with them beyond my landline, which I only have so I can get Sky's ADSL (no point changing to another landline provider as I never ever use it)

Virgin is great, I pay for there 30Mbps broadband service and get 31Mbps and 3Mbps upload.
