Yes, I do get the need for low weight (it does happen that the tiger 1050 is 198kg dry, 229kg wet ) and the SMT is supposed to be even lighter (192kg dry).

Soooo..... when are you changing the stock zorst to akra's?

Oh, the weights are closer than I gave credit, but I still wouldn't have gone for one...there is no beating the suspension and brakes on this bike and when riding it you know this bike came from a supermoto heritage! Go test ride one, I dare you!!

I'm not going to change the exhausts either. If I were to change them to Akra's I would then re-map and my mpg would plummet even further...I like the sound of the stock exhausts anyway, they still have a nice ring to them and crackle & pop when laying off the throttle but they just don't produce the sound that travels for miles which in honesty I can do without

A lot of the SMT guys are going for JC Exhausts, at half the price of Akra's they're a good buy...if you have the stainless covers over them no one would know either, in fact I bet most would thing they are Akra's if told :P

I'll be interested to see what others from the forum think of the stock sound when I am infront of them...from the seat it sounds nice...make me grin anyway!

lol, I have to keep coming home to change my soiled underwear

Seriously though I have to tread carefully, I have a stressed wife and a 10 day old baby to worry about ....I got 120 miles on the clock yesterday but only managed 60 today....I think I should be ready for the first service by the end of next weekend anyway (if I have my way here and there...). I am also trying to get a limited company setup this week as I have a new contract starting Monday based in Norwich, which is handy for the baby but not the commute...

All happening at once...

Nice, I really like that
Can I ask, how much are these? After a quick search could only find used ones.

£10495 RRP with the travel kit included (touring screen, panniers, center stand, gps mount, tank bag) - all model prices here: http://www.gear4direct.com/?i=95138

A lotta money and I was umming and arring for a while, if you test ride one you'll understand why I just had to though....highly recommend doing a test ride on one just for sh1ts and giggles

What about the insurance?

According to MCN they're a group 17 but they also say the Tuono is a group 16 but it's actually a group 19.
