Bit of a left field idea
Would a ZX6 J2 or RSVR (99-03) work?

The ZX6 code is: sh650-12 and the RSV Code is: SH5416-12

Update time

Just done the battery check and everything's come back with normal voltages
Carried it out with the lights on and the voltage dipped then came back (but that maybe through the tester slipping off the terminals).

Am I just being a fanny and its all alright or am I looking in the wrong area

Wiring and battery condition - or you're a fanny. I can't decide which I'd check first.

Most importantly what exact problem are you having?

PS Headlight brightening when revving is a hopeless test of regulator-rectifier, far more often caused by a low, or poor condition battery.
