Well.you can get a Millie for not much more than an SV 1000.
There is a 52 plate 10,000mile one up the road from me at only £3250.

If you are still keen to look at big bore kits, JHS racing in Bristol do stuff for them, but I do not know what effect this has on the engines long term life.

None of this is cheap though, but it will leave you with a super bike that could be a bugger to insure! Good luck
Nah they are ok if everything is healthy,

There are lots of things to tune before you have to go inside the engine.

Cheers all for your input. I opted for the curvy inlet cam mod & power commander. Didn't get it dyno-ed before i dropped them in but the cam mod made an immediate big change to the response and oomph out of corners. Less noticeable at higher speeds but still a very good mod. After the dyno there was a minimum of 6hp and 4lb of torque extra throughout the range. I would say I’ve gained more like 10hp and 6lb.

Anyone thats thinking about doing the mod go for it - the cams are hard to find but there out there

top tip dont wright in black, some people have the froum in standard colour.... black

and i stuck busa pistons, velocity stacks, cams and a few other bits in mine and it was plenty quick but id concentrate on the handling, mine had RSV forks, gsxr 1000 shock ect and went round corners pretty well

but saying all that it wasn't really worth it, ye i had a one off but for the money i spent i could have brought a gsxr 600/750

Ah! I thought it was weird i couldn't see my own post - what a numpty!

Hmmmm, might get the mid-range velocity stacks but stop chasing 'power' after that. Suspension it is, cartridges or a whole new front end?? the dollars say cartridges but I'm interested in the RSV front now......, then a new mono for the rear.

Mmm, I have the background set to white and I find that light blue writing impossible to read without highlighting it.

GSXR forks. RSV is pain in the *rse. GSXR stuff drops straight on and you can sell the SV parts and get money back.

+1, thanks to a certain Yorkshireman my upgrade was ride in ride out (with a modicum of swearing in between riding in and back out but that was because I own the bike) and parts for parts, cost neutral.

YC thinking aloud, wouldn't early a early R6 front end drop straight in?

But as said a gsxr front is tried and tested.
