So many poor partners are forced to fork out on expensive tat or else they're in the doghouse for the rest of the month, we stayed in and happened to watch a good film which we do quite a bit, it was just another Friday. It should be a Happy Singles Day too, no cards for that it would seem!

Love is alive and kicking in this thread eh

As a very romantic pair, who actually have no issues with showing each other love and affection any time of the year, we use this day to spend time alone from the kids.

I got chocolates and roses in the morning and we spent the evening in a Greek restaurant. Being able to have some 'us' time is rare. We have few choices for babysitting, so an offer of a night off on this day is grabbed with both hands!

Over dinner, we spent time giving attention to an extremely important family affair. Something very exciting to talk about which always gets interrupted by other things at home. I also learnt some treasured things of my partners past, forgotten, which were buried in his mangled memory. Thanks St Valentines

Fair, if folk want to be miserable and making a point of it. Shouldn't begrudge those who wish to celebrate in some way.. Or maybe it's because you lot wish you got spoilt a little more often than you do?
