Might be worth asking SV_archie99 what length the standard ones are that he just took off his SV to put the longer ones in for the bar conversion he's doing... http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=221518

Seems odd for a set of pre-boxed Goodridge cables to be the wrong length - does the part number on the boxmatch up with what is shown in the advert?
Bare in mind the hoses you posted the link to are (I think) for a front race setup - that is, the hoses go direct from the caliper to the master cylinder rather than having the extra section going over the front fender (as per the original setup). I don't suppose there would be any way of fitting them via the old set up but thought I'd mention it just in case that explained the apparent difference? I'm assuming your handle bars are the original ones too? |

by the sounds/looks of it your brakes are fine but your fork seals are feked no sealmate is going to fix them.
due to your fork seals leaking your front pads will be feked and discs will be contaminated with oil. my suggestions are: get forks seals fixed pronto. clean everything down with degreaser. replace the pads but before you put the new ones in clean the discs with brake cleaner THEN put the new pads in. |

Just that the race one go straight up to the cylinder whereas the original ones have the h-shaped arrangement and are routed over the front fender via various t-pieces etc. You couldn't really mix the two up but I just meant to check that you weren't trying to follow the old path up to the cylinder or use the old hose guides but given that you say a mechanic has looked at them then I doubt that would be the problem.

Eddie, the race lines will be designed for a bike with clip-ons, i.e: low handlebars. I'd be very surprised if they went straight onto a bike with straight bars.

HEL offer full race line setups for the N as well as the S so I imagine Goodrich probably do as well.

Just to clarify I haven't yet sorted out the purchase of longer brake lines required for the my conversion. The standard S brake line set up is on the bike with the single nose from the master cylinder and the split hose arrangement over the mudguard. I'll be going out to the bike shortly to measure them up for you if this is what you need ? Edit Your looking at naked lengths which someone has supplied in the link above.
