Maybes they should bring back the original with the obvious improvements to make it perfect. The straight lines are fashion over practicality. Now a couple years down the road people are getting bored of it.
IMHO the black has only been applied to dumb down the nasty frame on the new model. |

I also like the look of it, not sure if i prefer it to the 03/04 models though. I dunno why people slag off the new shape frame so much, it looks stronger, cleaner, sharper than the old one to me. infact the new shapes look cleaner and sharper to me, but i know im in the minority here. lol.

But not a minority of one, I like the new shape and the black frame too, why does it have to be an either/or choice, I think old shape SVs are good and so are new shape ones.
Why are some people so stuck on one variety? The clocks: Whatever has been said about price, (and I sincerely doubt that the digitals are significantly different in price to build), having owned both an SV650SX and now an SV1000K3, I don't feel that there is any difference in usability between digital and analogue speedos, and the new instruments have a clock, a temperature gauge and are easily switchable between Imperial and Metric, in short, they work good. Whether you feel that the extra info they give is useful or not is a different matter of course.

There's no accounting for some people's taste. I don't know, you lot with your antique, light-bulb shaped, blunt SV's.

I don't think that's a nice red, to be honest, but the yellow one is absolutely drop dead gorgeous... Best of the new shape SVs by a country mile... Especially once you powdercoat the front forks black.

I like the fly screen but not over keen on the black frame.
On a diferent note I think Hodgson done ok this year. For the middle part he performed better than Rubens but he is right...without the money to go testing they were uncompetetive. Rubens rode out of his skin for a FEW races but crashed even more than Checa!!! Shame that Neil's moving on away from the big hitters but I understand he must get frustrated being on an uncompetetive bike and even worse...sub standard tyres. |
