Really bikes are just a toy - they are not practical. If I felt f**ked after 100 miles what is it going to be like when I take it around Europe!

Honda Goldwing?

On the subject of practicality...

I garaged my bike for winter after I got soaked (not exagerrting when I say I was as wet as if I'd gone in the sea- completely drenched from head to foot) and fed up on a long ride.

On my following long trip in bad weather I wore:

Bottoms:

A pair of jeans, track bottoms over the top. Cordura biking trousers over those.

Tops:

Tshirt, jumper, fleece, cordura biking jacket

Over the top of those, One Spada 406 waterproof all in one. It was much more comfortable and I arrived dry (albeit sweaty and with creased clothes). However, I just wore my normal boots and gloves. I ended up with v. cold feet and hands.

I do agree in bad weather bikes aren't practical. It's not like you're going to save time on them if it's Icey, or arrive in a smart state (eg, for an interview or funeral) no matter what oversuits/gear you wear. Remember- bikes used to be a budget alternative to a car. Nowadays, when most people can afford to run a banger, the focus tends to be on fun.

That's not to say bikes aren't useful. In good weather, they are excellent at getting you from a to b quickly, and with a smile on your face.
