Well I'm glad this has bought everyone together...
The only thing I would like is a naked tl1000 or a BMW for getting to work. With the SV as a trick bike..

It does pull reasonably at those sort of speeds in 5th gear, I think part of the problem is I often cruise in 6th. at lower revs to improve fuel consumption. I'd better just practice quick downshifts followed by hard acceleration until it becomes second nature

You and the bike both okay now?

I've never had a bike for pure pleasure before - there's always been a need for commuting, fuel economy, lower running costs etc with all of my bikes - until I bought my SVS.

For the first time in my life I had a bit of money I could just buy somthing with - and so I bought Black.

It didn't take me long to put him in the same league as Red (my MGB) = if either of them have gone, so have I. Or all three of us are in a little rusted heap at the back of the garage!

Nah, Randy, some things have a much greater emotional attachment than others- generally cars, bikes, teddy bears and guitars, though there's probably others I love my Telecaster, I could easily afford to get a better one, but it wouldn't be the same so I don't...

I loved the sv, I wanted one since i was 15,

The dream was good, the reality better, Living with soured memories wasnt good, so thats y i changed, i want another sv, and i hope i can persuade kitten to get one when she passes.

The CCM is good to, but i already miss the sv, i have a picuture on my desk wall of pipi, and it makes me very sad to think she has gone,

However once the CCM has given me the confidence to corner again, ill be back, just u wait and see!!!

For now, i can power slide and crash with a repair bill of 37p rather than hundreds of pounds! thats how i live without the sv, with that reassurance,

Alex
