The paint blobs mark bolts/nuts that have been tightened.
Oh and can everybody get over this whinging? Tighten your pivot bolt/threadlock it/whatever, it's just a bloody bolt. I'd think that it's caused by SV-lite vibration , proper SVs like my K3 1000 have the same fitting, but, (thus far anyhoo), I've not heard anyone with a 1000 whining about this.

yup mine's a K4 and it KEEPS coming loose. Very irritating. Might have to use some epoxy on it to lock the nut.

MINE FELL OFF DOWN THE A3, I WAS JUST COMING OFF WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE DOWN AND THERE WAS NOTHING THERE, A BIT OF LOCKTITE AND 7000 MILES LATER NO PROBS

Yep, The gear levers are falling off over here in the USA as well. The Dealer had just done my 600 mile service. I think I was just over the 1,000 mile reading when mine actually fell off.
