The paint blobs mark bolts/nuts that have been tightened.

Oh and can everybody get over this whinging? Tighten your pivot bolt/threadlock it/whatever, it's just a bloody bolt.

I'd think that it's caused by SV-lite vibration , proper SVs like my K3 1000 have the same fitting, but, (thus far anyhoo), I've not heard anyone with a 1000 whining about this.

yup mine's a K4 and it KEEPS coming loose. Very irritating. Might have to use some epoxy on it to lock the nut.

Ever heard of threadlock? It keeps bolts/screws nice and tight once dry but allows you to unscrew them when you need to, I'll even lend you some if you come down to a Soho meet one day.

Oh, and I have a K4 and I've not had any problems with it yet.

I have a 2000 SVS and when buying it I took it for a test ride. Blimey thinks I, the gearshift feels funny. Looks down to find gear lever and footrest wobbling around as the retaining screw was working loose.

Gave it a real good tightening and it's been OK since.

Yep, The gear levers are falling off over here in the USA as well. The Dealer had just done my 600 mile service. I think I was just over the 1,000 mile reading when mine actually fell off.
Cheers!

Sorry yes I meant threadlock. Epoxy could be a bit of a bugger getting off should i need to! Anyway, thanks for the kind offer
