Hardly ideal since I've only had the hornet for 2 months.

Do you get many folk wanting to sell their sv's for bikes like hornets?
Where's Jabba & Sythree now

Nice one
I'm here, sunshine!!
And me

As Carsick said, I've never owned an SV - just preferred the Hornet after test-riding 'em back to back. Personal choice really. Nothing wrong with an SV.

But that IL4 howl at 12,000rpm................

The SV looks miles better than the Hornet too. Espesh in Black.
My Hornet vibes like hell at 6,500 - 7K - really irritating cos that's mid-range. But true, the engine does go whoosh, it doesn't rattle, it doesn't burn oil, and it's entirely predictable so no surprises. Oh and as jabba says, that howl - it's so addictive...

I'll post a pic of my Hornet later, and everyone can say what they think of it. Before anyone says 'Chicken strips!' I took the pic when I bought the bike and it no longer has them

... of course, if you've still got the standard can, they both go:

chatter chatter chatter chatter chatter chatter

And before you know it, you've made a set of curtains!

So, Honda build bikes with reliability, Suzuki build them with character...

I know which one I want when the bike is 3 years old and it's 6:45am and I have to get to work....

I had a bike with a lot of character, but I won't buy an Aprilia again

To my knowledge, the SV doesn't burn oil...like, say, a Honda Fireblade does. When I say rattle I mean vibrate, shake, groove, bump, chatter, convulse, jolt, move, oscillate, quake, rock, shimmy, shiver, shudder, tremble, tremor, vibrate. Not rattle and fall to bits. Poor choice of verb.

To my knowledge Suzuki and Honda are matched in Reliabilty as are Kawasaki and Yamaha. Honda have an edge in build quality. I am willing to be wrong on example though. The Hornet is a fine example of the Honda art...but the SV matches reliability with style...

I'm sure the SV will prove as reliable as any other Jap bike. Espesh after three years and at 0645h.
