I know there is no bright side to an off like that, but think of it this way, you could have been really hurt bad, theres enough plonkers on the road who seem to be trying it on. Treat em all as if they are out to get you.

Anyway sorry to hear about it, get back on as soon as possible, good luck with the bits.

I have seen this happen so many times, especially on the A2 going towards the tunnel in the morning

Get well soon matey and for the grace of god go I------ALL BE CAREFUL
Wasnt me holding you up this morning was it? :P Held a black pointy and a blue pointy up for a few minutes. Was having front tyre issues on the slippy surface and spatial awareness issues between a van and a long load lorry

Add to that about the A2/A102 ESPECIALLY now its down to two lanes due to roadworks all over the place. Its mental with the lane changes this evening coming home.

As for speed - tbh with me its relative to the traffic. I filter down the A2 when the traffics doing 50 and Im a little over that but I only do it if I know the cars arent going to veer into me. Its hard to express a judgement call really unless youre actually in it

Daimo, whatever our differences Im glad youre ok. Hope you heal soon and learn something from it [like dont do it again :P ]

Sorry to hear about your off mate. By the sounds of it could have been worse. I'm still bikeless after my accident back in November. Did you manage to get witnesses? Did the Police get involved?

Thanks for the replies all, its really cool to see a close community of riders who care

Yeah, thats a good way to say learning from it, don't do it again Hopefully, i'll learn from this. Its hard though as it was just a reaction, that reaction on the front brake is what i need to control next time (hopefully not a next time).

Got witnesses and the car that pulled accross, but unfortunatly, insurance doesn't like us bikers filtering and for the sake of £400 odd to repair it all, the amount i'll loose over insurance isn't worth it. It'll drag on (as claims always do) and theres a chance i could loose my 6 years ncb. I've only got another 6 months and i'll have full ncb, at which point, i'll be taking a protected no claims policy

Dont give up. Go dig out my insurance letter. If you have a witness to say he didnt look that will help.

Helped a few people especially the guy who gave me the template from which I amended. Won mine with no witnesses too from this. Btw a court case recently settled in favour of a filtering biker I believe. Will try and find that one for you too.
