To be honest, the damage shouldnt stop you riding it at all, other than the gear change.

The MIB(not men in black) are there for you to claim off if you are hit by an unisured driver. you should NOT claim off your own insurance. If you have legal assistance, then i would contact them. Carole Nash can sometimes be obstructive when it comes to claims of this nature. Why should you loose your NCB for someone elses carlessness.

Best of luck.

OMG

That's absolutly unbelievable! Id go MIB on this (Make sure you keep quotes / reciepts for everything) It'll take a while so no good in the short term but no way should you be out of pocket or NCD for this

Luckily as stated just about everything that's dammaged looks to be bolt on / bolt off, but if you need a hand put up a post and people can offer advice!

That Sucks so bad!

I've gotten further advise from RSS and confirmed with Equity Redstar (who underwrite the policy).

Basically I'll make a full claim under my FC insurance policy to make the bike as new again. At the same time I will submit a claim to the MIB which should be successful as there were witnesses. On the successful completion of my MIB claim (who will only pay for uninsured losses, my cuts/bruises/jacket etc) Equity Redstar will reinstate my full no claims as the accident will then go down as a 'non-fault' accident.

Sounds like a plan. Do be aware that the MIB has very strict time limits for bringing a claim - I forget what they are, but they are MUCH shorter than usual limitation periods. Don't hang about, get a claim moving now - don't sit on it, you might find you're out of time. A day late is too bad.
