If you enjoyed that, you may be intrested in my exploits at Cadwell too (Don't worry, in true GB style, the weather was a bit hit and miss there!! ).

Nice.... All the other guys on Silverstone are braking and you brake a hell of a lot later. Nice riding.

Love the backing it in style movie as well. Pretty cool. Too bad the wind is disturbing the engine sound. I do notice that you shift back at pretty high revs aren't you? Personally I prefer doing that at lower revs.

Shift back??? You mean go down the gears?!?! E.g. 5->4, 4->3 etc?

I can bang-the-box pretty high up the revs still yeah … probably due to riding IL4s so much!!

Sorry. That was a bit of a wrong translation from my side... I meant shifting down as you said.

How much miles did your SV do when you bought it/converted it to track bike? I'm thinking about a SV trackbike as well, but mine has already done 36.000 km... So I'm thinking of getting a used bike with as few miles as possible.

That's ~22k miles. My bike had done not far off double that when I got it.

Its still a solid engine, just not very strong HP wise compared to even the stock pointys I came up against at Lydden. If that is a pointy-v-curvy thing or just the miles on my motor I don't know (my bike has a race can, K&N and 14t front sprocket tank raisers etc, so should have had the upper hand against the totally stock bikes on acceleration, but it didn't).

Regardless of absolute HP output, it runs sweet as a nut and perfectly good enough for trackdays

A high mileage bike sounds a good bet for a trackbike, as it'll lose a huge amount of resale value if you track it.

Ooh, from your sig you've had the cartridge fork conversion done - how're you finding it compared to stock?

Compared to stock it's a day and night difference. I first had stiffer springs and thicker oil in it and that was an improvement over stock, but the cartridge internals (from the Andreani group) are a significant improvement over stiffer springs/thicker oil. The cartridge I have use 5W oil and it feels better and stiffer than the 15w oil I had before. Big advantage is the fact that the 5W oil doesn't react to temperature, so the front end feels the same under 12 degrees celsius or 30 degrees celsius.

Mr. Blue_SV650S, can you please tell me what kind of camera and camera stand you use? I want to do some filming myself next year. I think a cheap ass camera with a memory stick is the best solution, because it's more shock resistant.

ATC-1000 with a 1Gb SD card fitted. Also used on the 2nd resolution setting as you get a better frame rate.

The mount is homemade and utilises the fuel cap mounting bolts to hold in place.

If you have a camcorder, you will get better results with a remote 'bullet' cam, but as I didn't have a digi camcorder, I went this route.

Ah ok. I like a bullet cam as well, but I don't want to spend hundreds of euros on equipment as most of my filming will be on the track. Still risky...

Do you by any chance have a picture of your camera mounted? I found some nice fuel cap mounts on ebay and the internet, but I'm a bit worried that it interferes when riding.
