Nah, the punishment here is much the same as it is over the border. The problem is that every copper, their mother & their uncles dog has a speed gun.

I'm sales rep instigator but me and my boss have quite a large area to cover (Northern Europe!) so we both do pretty heavy mileages.

I can't complain at all really (even though I already have!) what with the amount of time I spend on the road, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Like andyaikido said, least it's only £60 and 3 points.

i too was caught and have 3 points to my name, im working up to the embroided towl you can get with nine points,

Your £60 quid will help buy more speed cameras which they'll use to try and catch you again. It's a vicious circle!

Actually they aren't the same, because the camera will issue a ticket, the copper probably wouldn't

I remember complaining on here some time back cos I was doing 61 in a 50 (thought I was still in the NSL) and I got no sympathy at all, pilloried in fact for lack of observational skills in not seeing the sign even though the damn thing was placed behind a tree. And when I complained about how those nice people at Halifax car insurance had put the premium up £20 as a result, it became a feeding frenzy

What you will find amusing is the reason I was speeding was because I was running late. The reason I was running late was because I got lost in the middle of Leeds! Again!

Ed - I'm not looking for sympathy. I broke the speed limit and got caught, nothing else to it.

Pfff 82 mph is harsh, if you do less than 85 on the motorway you get rear-ended these days (on M40 anyway).
