I would first give 1.5 a shot, then Opera.

How is everything else running with Win2K? Ok?

EDIT: Jenni, emm, you might be able to spec out what RAM you have there, open the machine, see if you have a few free slots, and then pick some up off eBay. They sometimes flog old misc. RAM off very cheaply there.

This might help things on your old machine.

I've used Firefox 2 since it was released on a few Win2KSP4 boxes with no errors (upgraded previous versions of firefox), but it could be a host of things that causes the dump.
Handy to save full memory dumps & you could use windows debugger to trace the problem (here) if you want to get stuck in & it's more than just firefox.
Apologies if you've already run this, it really could be a stack of things causing it but it's running pretty solid for me & I like v2, so not all bad.
