That so called "mate" of mine decided that my bid for that ST200 was too low, and decided not to sell It's already in a state (condition wise), but nothing that a lot of TLC would fix up.

I know what will happen now - that good car will just lie in my back garage to rust away. What a waste..... He's not even interested in coming back to collect it - he hasn't even phoned me back to arrange to tow it back to his garage. I'll just let it lie till he comes round to his senses and decidesto sell. I'll fix it, and sell it on for a tidy profit... Besides 27mpg average and a group 17 insurance is not a good thing for everyday commuting to work...

Have gone off the astras - there's one everywhere you look (5 doors look terrible plus too common)
Ford Focus - would have to be a 3dr in metallic blue or black with zetec trim(5 dr models look too family)

Thought about a Peugeot 307 sport 3dr 2 litre HDI in blue with the gold alloys. They look good, but they're as scarce as hell.. You don't see very many going around. They also hold a good price second hand

Forgot to mention that I also need something that's capable of towing a fully laden motorbike trailer at 70 to 80mph in comfort (My wee peugoet 1.9 diesel van tows the Ninja comfortably at 80mph - you get some strange looks off other motorists (especially caravan towers) as you rip past them with a van full of bike gear whilst towing a fully laden trailer....).

And yes I do know that I should be doing a max of 60 towing a trailer You get nowhere sitting at 50 to 60 in a car or van....

Ah well.

I was thinking about towing capabilities myself, but decided for the number of times I'd do that, it'd be as well to get a car that suits me better all the other times, and hire a SWB transit occasionally
