I love the upright riding position on this sort of bike. I opted for a faired tourer as it suited my needs better.

I wouldnt say they were overly heavy, they just carry it slightly higher.

The bikes featured in TLWR were actually 1150 GS Adventures - the GS Adventure is a more off-road orientated version of the standard GS.

The main obvious differences are tank size - on the new 1200 you can have a 33 litre tank !! - ride height - around 900mm I think, & spoked wheels as opposed to alloys.

They used the old 1150 Adventure.

SVox has the new 1200, which is about 30kg lighter and has an extra 15bhp.

I like 'em. But what do I know?

Some one I worked with used to have the 1150GS and when the 1200 was released, he traded the 1150 in for the 1200...didn't like it so traded the 1200 back for his old 1150. He said he just could not get on with the 1200. Go figure...horses for courses I suppose

I think I was about 6 yrs old when I last wore a cardigan - & when you own a NAKED SV THOU you don't have to prove anything - it's just taken for granted by all who know about these things that you are manly !!

I had a nekked 650 for a while ... more pleasant to ride than the S at town speeds as lighter steering etc (that might be partly down to the tyre being a proper 60 section rather than 70 like on my S too) but when speeds got over 60odd the wind buffeting makes it most uncomfortable to ride ... I couldn't imagine ever being able to wind a thou right up in top

But a BMW ... a BMW ... dude!!!
