i have one a 98 with 17k miles , everything that is said here is about right , but remember all the wee niggles are called charactor :P i fill up every 100 miles , though as stramasher says the latter models had a bigger tank , rodger at revolution does a fork upgrade for £150 which sorts the handling out and stops the forks bottoming out under hard braking, big plus in my eyes is the honda build quality , better than the two suzukis i have by miles (and i am a suzuki guy) and now they are going from £1200 upwards , plenty of them around, so lots of second hand stuff , pennies buys a spacer which goes between the shock at the back and livens up the front , though makes the bike look like its going to fall over when on the stand

CLOGGSY!......What you want is a Multistrada mate. Heaps of fun to ride, great motor and quality build. Yeah so the looks are a little quirky but a fine, fine bike I reckon.

Mate Karl has one, a Multistrada S. It is indeed a fine beast and it goes just a tad quick

Been a bit put off by Ducati's of late... Mate of a mate has a 749 with 1546 miles on it and it is into its THIRD engine

The motors keep 'pooing' themselves and throwing the valves into the pistons

Dunno whether there is a 'bad batch' or what

Besides... 'Stradas cost loads too

I have one pull up next to me at the lights just as I come out of work sometimes. Twin carbon cans..

It rumbles the gound on idle, couldn't hear my SV at all, and im sure i started to get a little "diesel willy" before the lights went green and he'd shoot away....

Thanks in advance,

My brother had yellow '01 Firestorm and according to him "its a heavy pig that doesn't want to corner". He had Art race cans on it .. kinda made my SV sound like a lawnmower . I got a go on it one time and lets just say its sore on the old arms when you wind it out. I'd have one.

Cloggsy....That terrible tale about your mates woes is very, very rare indeed with the Testastressa motor. However you should not be too concerned as the Multistrada has another motor which is almost unblowable!

For what it's worth my Testastressa engine has now done about 9k miles and many of those at mid to high revs, it has never missed a single beat.
