Sorry to read about the bike Kate. You've not had much luck with this one, but I know you loved it. Hope you get back on the road soon.

oh no, i'm sorry to hear this! are these quite commonly stolen bikes? I would suppose so...doesn't bode well fro me wanting one when i don't have a garage
![]() on a related note, why do manufacturers not make it so part of the frame can be chained? I can only fit my chain into the wheels on my SV... ![]() |

My chain is through the rear wheel. Dunno how hard it would be to remove that? They would have to go without the wheel though cos it is anchored to 80kg of weights!
Also my chain is locked using a disk lock that is alarmed and you only have to breath on it and is bloody loud. So they would have that going off whilst they remove the wheel. In that case the garage is less safe than parking outside as they can hide the sound better. Might be worth getting an alarmed disk lock next time. Was the bike alarmed? I feel very sorry for you cos if mine was nicked and I had to claim I wouldn't be able to afford to reinsure so I'd have to bank the cash and quit riding for 5 years or something! I just wouldn't own a bike if I had a flat. I would at least want a garden closed off from the outside world. |

*ucking
![]() Have got some details ie reg (in case they are stupid & have not changed it), frame number colour etc that you would be will to post/pm I am in south east london. I know it's a real long shot but these bikes that get stolen don't always travel that far. |

Like every one else, I'm gutted for you. Even though it's not a home burglary I know it can still feel like and invasion of self. You have my heartfelt sympathies.
Putting the word out locally could well bear fruit - and it would also keep you busy and focused for the 21 days the insurance company 'need'. |
