Probably cheaper this time Beenz cos they didn't have to scrape the muck off this time, after you cleaned so nicely at the weekend

Bike Treads are a small unit on the Kembrey Park industrial estate in Swindon - they do MOT's as well. From Chippenham you turn left at the roundabout in front of George Whites new place then left at next rdbt (I think) its signed for Kembrey Park. Its then about the last left hand turn then a few yards up on the right.

Sorry I don't know about Bristol

think i will give bike treads a go the next time i need something big doing then.

Saw Beenz and his bike last night. he said he got the GSXR from Taylors, so the price of his service at George whites must be their normal pricing then? good value!

How come you didn't take it to All About Bikes? I know you've said you've used them in the past. http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=77882

My bike is still under warranty and that's where I take mine. I had an 'experience' with Fowl-ups doing an MOT on my Triumph years back and vowed never to use them again.

I can't find the break down of costs for my 4000 service but I know it was under £100. The 7500 service was £180 ish and included sparkplugs, air filter, oil and oil filter plus a jolly liberal application of grease etc where needed.

There are probably cheaper places than AAB but I trust them completely with my bike.

I'm sorry you weren't happy with Fowlers though. I have met people who were happy with work done by them.

The reason the bike didn't go to all about bikes is becuase I wanted to retain the warranty!!

Serves me right for being female and a bit stupid I guess

When I read the service book I thought it made no mention of having to go to a Suzuki dealer for servicing to retain the warranty...or have I missed something? It said the bike had to be serviced with genuine Suzuki parts...which it has.

I'll dig it out and have another read tonight (what a saddo!).

I'm going to ignore the last sentence as I fear whatever I say will be get me in trouble!

mine a couple of months months back was £158 they listed what they did, included oil/filter change ajusted calipers, full chassis lube, check of tyres wheels, brakes, electrics, cable play, fluids, air filter, nuts/bolts, engine fault - found & repaired.

No mention of spark plugs, so I guess they aren't in the schedule.

It does not need to be a suzuki garage to maintain the bike under the waranty, things have changed recently, not sure if its new legislation, or if its complaints of overcharging. As long as the parts are fitted by a qualified mechanic and the parts are not aftermarket, then they should still honour thier waranty.

Oddly I got the bike from Taylors in Chips n Ham (before they went ot of business) as GW had sold out of the K6 at that time. GW did notice that the service book was not completed correctly (missing the waranty sticker) that meant that the warranty was not registered on my bike , they contacted Suzuki on my behalf and informed them of the issue and they are going to be send the right documentation to validate it. I have to take me lid off to them as they didn't need to do anything.

I've used JHS racing a few times for tyres and they've beeen very good. For serviceing for now I'll use GW as they've helped me out. A top lot in my book.
