Use the term 'active' in it's very loosest sense and maybe I am. Once a month don't cut it really, does it? Getting to the point I'll be too lardy for me boat! Summer is here and so no water (except Tryweryn - yawn!) to be had.

My fat mate has bought a new bike, so there is hope. Relying on his motiviation though, I have none!

I went swimming about a year ago... while on my hols.

In a private 'wimming pool. Never in public (not until i've lost the weight No-one deserves those sorts of nightmares).

Can't be arsed with all that splashing around on top so it's either underwater or doggy paddle for me.

I swam for England in 1989 in Germany and won the Backstroke ASA.

That's my claim to fame. Used to train 6 days a week 1-2 miles a day.

After that I discovered women, drinking and smoking and the swimming went out the window.

Now I've tubbed up a bit and the six pack is all but a distant memory, I swim occasionally at the local gym. Although my physique is more like a walrus now I can still kick a*** in the pool (dunno how, I just can).

I am considering doing a David Walliams in 2008 for the CTRT (Cancer Treatment Research Trust)

If I get enough positive encouragement I'll get off my lardy a*** and get training, if not i'll do a sponsored pub crawl.
