change the shock & see if you like it. it's easier to evaluate the difference if you change one thing at once

if you later decide you want more rear ride height - for the reasons Blue says - look for shorter dogbones then

Shorter dog bones will also change the leverage on the shock, therefore it is not just ride height and steering geometry that you will alter, not sure if this is good or bad in this case.

I suspect the change in linkage ratio the shorter dogbones must make, might aid how it all works together though ... I suppose you could do them individually, but as you have to take the dogbones off to do the shock, its hassle free to put new ones on then ...

Its up to you, its not to hard to retrospectively fit them and as weizely one says, you could do step by step changes ... but I'd just sling them on to start with if it were me (well that is what I did anyway, so I did when it WAS me!! ). Like I said, all works well on the curvy setup

Indeed, as it all seems to work well on the curvy, I am making an assumption this might be .. well not crucial, but certainly a large part of the replacement 'package' ... I can't really recommend a curvy 636 conversion WITHOUT the dogbones as I have never tried it ... all I know is it works real well with

I am also assuming the same applies when a GIXER shock is used on a pointy ... but I can't say that for sure obviously...

I wish some pointy owner could come along and confirm or deny these assumptions for a pointy&GIXER

Indeed, for all we know it could be a Kangaroo without the dogbones too*!!

*I seriously doubt that mind, but it is a good idea to raise the rear end anyway as ground clearance is a bit plops as standard if nothing else
