Thanks!. The move was the best thing we could have done..and i lost just over a stone in weight so it had double benefits!.
Its been a tough old slog getting it all right but i am very happy with it all now. I like it to feel homely as i seem to spend half my life here at work. Cant complain though..could be stuck back in an office 9-5 earning someone else's pension! |

Hi, I don't know about a 7500 mile service (haven't done that many miles yet) but I paid £28 for a 600 mile service and £148.50 for 4000 miles. They said the 4000 mile service would take 5 hours and they kept the bike for that exact amount of time. I think they pad it out so they can claim more on labour costs. I thought £148.50 was expensive, but I was talking to a guy at the wekend and he paid £300 plus for a 4000 mile service for his Aprillia!

I like my service plan, paid the dealer an upfront fee of £499 and that covers all my servicing up to and including 16,000 miles (Labour & service parts but not parts such as brakes, bulbs, tyres etc)

Don't pay for the suzuki services, as my bike isnt standard and I have no intention of selling it...in fact I've had my bike from 5mths old and will have owned her for 6 years this November!!!

thats a pretty standard service, it should of took about 1.5 hours looking at it. from experiance main dealers have a habit of charging for work(and parts) that havent been done, my mate took a fazer 600 in for a main service and running fault, got charged £40 for a set af plugs and told him it was a fuel problem, first thing i done was pulled the plugs which where F**KED. they(armstrongs motorcycles, middlesbrough) didnt even have the decency to admit they hadnt changed them when he went back with the old plugs in his hands, needless to say the plugs had caused the problem! they also take advantage of charging you around £20+ per hour more than anywhere else because you want a dealer stamp in your book(not really worth the extra service costs if you ask me)

Just paid £138 for 7500 service, includes plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, £60 labour, at a little back street non-dealer, a proper mechanic called Steve Ives.
See my post on bikes talk & issues about this guy, he is a genuine riding god ![]() |

My 7500 mile service was almost free, cost of Haynes manual, 2 litres of oil, 2 spark plugs and grazed knuckles. Probably took a lot longer than the dealer would have spent on it mind...
