How to stop Britain's degenerative moral decline?

a friend of mine lost his eldest boy last year (9yrs old) in a car crash on the brecon beacons

three kids were in car with their grand parents when they had a head on with a car coming the other way on a band

apparentley the guy driving said it was an easier line to take into the bends
got three years...out in two on good behaviour..

appealed got two years..out in twelve months on good behaviour

I'm at an age where most of my freinds own their own place and are either getting maried or are already (suckers lol) but i chose to travel for a few years so i have none of those things. But i work hard and seem to be treading water.

Yeh i could drop out like those scumbags but i'd rather work 3 jobs than live on a crappy estate and bring up kids surrounded by crappy type of people so their only aspiration in life is to be equaly crappy like them.

I remember last year when the tube strikes were on and the TV news was interviewing peeps outside the tube stations asking them what they thought of the industrial action. One young indian guy said "Look i sympathise if they feel they dont earn enough but look at it this way, i studied for 4yrs to qualify as an accountant and as a junior i'm on less money than a tube driver is on. Why should they get wage rises in line with inflation? Do you think i could demand that of my bosses and go on strike if i dont get it? No way, i'd be told to go find a better paid job if i think i'm worth it. In years to come i'll be on a high wage but i will have worked my way up, learnt more and more skills in my work and be worth the salary i demand. Please explain why tube workers who do menial work should have such privelegaes to demand a pay rise or go on strike"

So back to the point, sterilization. Give those who dont work the chance to have one child or get one girl preggers. if they cant get a job before that child is born or they dont know who the father is then dont give them a chance to be a further drain on the economy.
We must stop them breeding before they take over the country. Look how year on year more and more "english" people emigrate. Cant just be for the sun can it?

Looking at the state of the roads etc in this country, make everyone on the dole do manual labour repairing roads, cleaning rivers, painting old folks homes before they allowed any money, there's a mass of things councils say they cant affiord to do while a load of lazy gits sit on their rears claiming benifits. Make em do something for the community before they get their "income"

Ok, opening salvo, let's hark back to the golden age. 50 years ago the words "paki" and "nigger" were acceptable. Racial and sexual discrimination was acceptable. Homosexuality was an imprisonable offence. Apartheid in South Africa was unoposed. Going back further, 150 years ago, women didn't have the vote, and the British empire was built on the bodies of conquered peoples armed largely with sharpened pieces of mango. Going back further, 250 years ago and slavery was widely practiced.

In many ways, Britain's morals have substantially improved over the years.

Every generation thinks things are worse than they used to be. Your parents told you, their parents told them.

Proof please, that the net result is a decline.

So repression and violence is the way forward, according to many on here.

We used to have a cleaner, Cathy. She came from the council estate a little way away. She was nice, I liked her. But she had been worn down by a violent partner. Getting a job, even a cleaning job, was her way up. She asked if her mum could help her. We said yes. Well the mother was completely different - such a negative approach, she told Jason (Cathy's son) that it would be far better to leave school at 16 and hget a job in MacDonalds than to go to sixth form college as it was a waste of time.

SO what's the point of this. Isn't it clear that the sort of people everyone is talking about - C2s and Ds I spose - have been failed by the rest of us. Why can't people recognise that not everyone wants the same in life, but everyone does expect to be treated with respect and dignity. If you send people to live on grimy council estates is it any wonder that their self-esteem goes downhill? Is it any wonder that if people are treated as second class citizens that they grow up resentful?

And so this vicious circle continues. People from poorer backgrounds, less well educated, are never given a chance, so they see that there is no point in working. Yes the state social security system is flawed and needs to be retuned to encourage people to work. It is wide open to abuse, and I'm always pleased to see people being prosecuted for that.

It is such a stereotyped myth that vast numbers of people really want to live in a sh1tty housing association flat on social security. It happens because these people see a system which perpetuates this unevenness, this lack of opportunity, for generations. They see no way out, and the fact of state security gives an easy option. I see kids hanging around in Shrewsbury town centre, they are waiting for their appointment at the NACRO office, and it's pathetic. Most look like they're on drugs, most probably can't even write their own name. I don't see this as some chavs scrounging, I see it as a disgraceful waste of a young life. Why were they allowed to fail? Why didn't the education system do better for them?

The answer is to improve things for people. Not all by the state, but by somehow getting people to improve their self-esteem, by empowering them to work, starting at school. By getting people to realise that life is what you make of it. Why is achievment such a dirty subject in the UK - why is profit seen as garish - why is success seen as show-offish? A fundamental change in attitudes is needed.

As for Jason, he saw the light, broke free from his repressive grandmother, went back to live with his mum, and enrolled for A levels. He did well. He got 2 Bs and a C. He's now doing an IT course. Good for him.

These terrific ideas of violence and repression - oh, please.
The problem is deep rooted and there is no easy answer.

To be honest i have said it all before.

The UK does have some very serious social problems that need sorting out sooner rather than later so it benifits the society as a whole.

In some respects the uk has got better yes, more tolerance towords others etc, but on a crime punishment and genereal respect for others the UK is now probably the worst place in Europe to be.

One thing i have never thought the UK should say sorry for is the slave trade, what is the point its not this generation who done it. And all these bleeding hearts who bang on about their ancestors being torn from their homeland etc, well yes but if they had not have been then would you be who you are today with the same standard of living?? no! Should we get Italy, Denmark, France and Germany to apologise to us for invading us, murdering and raping us all those years ago??

Our once proud judicial system is a joke, Judges are not in touch with society, sentances are far too lienient for nearly everything.

The police have their hands tied by so much red tape and bullsh*t and we will only send our worst offenders to prison as they are full!! FFS.

The prison problem could be solved by executing all pedo's and rapists, all murders as well, that should free up a few prison beds. And why do we need to build more prisons, just throw 10 to a room and feed them pi** and bread all day, its is after all meant to be a punishment is it not?? I am sure if you lived like an animal for a few years you would not want to go back again??

and for those who are stupid enough to go back then we should have the 3 strike and your out rule here, any 3 crimes that carry a custidial sentance you get convicted for, then that is you in prison till you die. You have proven you cant act like a civilised responsible member of the world, so why shoud we have to put up with you??

The disipline in school is a joke, bring back the cane , and proper exclusions. The teachers are helpless and the kids think they can get away with blue murder.

All the teen problems, well 90% are just a bit bored and do no harm but the 10% who are little shi*s need to be sorted out.

I am as you know very hard line on this subject and think the only way is to basically be ruthless to solve our problems.

In short bring back real disapline and punishment, the ones that hurt and kll people who do wrong and makes people so afraid of getting caught they will think twice about doing the crime to start with.

Years ago the UK had heavy industries which were very labour intensive. Mining or shipbuilding.
But they are gone and with the mass employment they brought.

An old codger wrote to the local paper saying bring back national service and the noose.

Pride is the key. Pride in all things. The sense of belonging. Sense of community. Opportunity and the ability to better oneself. To serve.

Moral decline can be judged. By the number of under age pregnancy...illiteracy...drug abuse...crimes committed...how does UK compare to Spain?

Respect is the key to everything. and it works both ways.
