If I hand a parcel to a lady in a Royal Mail Post Office, and a Royal Mail postman delivers it, damaged into someone else's hand, then who else can I hold responsible? If it's down, say, to a subcontracted driver who smashes it up in his van on the way somewhere, it's still RM's responsibility - insofar as choosing the contractors goes they hold some culpability IMHO.

And if it gets lost? Same story AFAIC. I've had two items of Recorded Mail go missing, both sent from the same PO on different days in the same week, to different addresses in different areas of the UK, and neither arrived, so I submitted a claim form, only to get a letter back SIX WEEKS later, to say 'we've written to the receiving person (who hadn't signed for the item, as RM couldn't produce a signed Recorded Delivery receipt) and haven't had a reply, so we assume the parcel was delivered, so you're not getting your money or goods back'.

The only point I was making was that I have personally had tens of occurrences like the above with RM, and I can count the total of all other problems I've had across multiple carriers including DHL, TNT, ANC, FedEx, Amtrak, ParcelForce (and whichever lot the Big Green Parcel Machine are, as I can't remember) on the fingers of one hand.

Exactly. They're all as bad as each other - my original point was simply that some people get lucky with one and some with another - my only bad luck seems to be with RM - but I didn't say 'Don't ever use the Post Office, they're ****'.
