i keep comparing them to my other Sv but they ain't shiny enough yet, and i haven't even got to the wheel rims yet. thats after i attack the front subframe with dome potent rust stuff. I cheated with the rear and bought another one
Yeah, I've got a spare swing arm I'm slowly working on. I could send it off to be polished, but I want to do it

It may not look as good as a professional job, but it'll be all my own work

you must really have a polishing fetish, the swingarms anodised and will take you an eternity to polish.....but mmmmmmmm it will look nice, as our YPVS has a polished RGV swingarm and thats sexy as helll

So has mine! Well, nearly, it got one winter off after the last owner rode it into a truck

Remember Admin John used to do his restoration threads? That was the worst shape SV I'd ever seen. Til this one.

ok so the forks in the previous photo were nitromorsed and autosol'd, but the finish wasn't a spot on my othr Sv so we decided (as I don't have bench grinders n stuff) to do it the hard way. with a boat load of wet n dry, elbow grease and autosol, the fork on the left of this photo is the final result.

bearing in mind that the bottoms of these forks are soooo bad anything is an improvement. The one on the right is getting saved til tomorrow to finish. Its already half way there but me fingers are really sore. I did this one all by my self and as Lissa says polishing is very satisfying. The one on the right was started by chris so theres not as much to do

Cool

Main conclusion, 240 grit is way too fine for getting pits and cast-in roughness off the forks
