Ok, I thought I would chip in now as I've just sorted out my bike insurance (after having to cancel another policy due to them wanting to charge me £40 just to change my address - NB: there was no change of premium for the change of postcode!).
This was the most competitive quote I've had so far: I'm a 39yo male, have held full bike licence for just over a year and have 0 NCD. 2 "fault" accidents (1 car - 03/2005, 1 bike 01/2007). SV650S K3 with disclosed modifications of exhaust and scottoiler (not yet fitted). Bike kept in a locked (brick/concrete) garage overnight. Pillion cover included, also TPO for riding other peoples bikes. £362 (Fully comp). (£350 excess - most quotes I was getting had a COMPULSORY excess of £500 - probably due to my claim back in Jan 07). For that price, they also threw in breakdown cover and waived the finance fee for paying by direct debit. Now the reasons they "threw in" those freebies was because the underwriter is simply after the business. So, if anyone is after a good deal on their insurance you might want to give them a try. I am not making any personal recommendations here as I've only just taken out my policy with them ... it remains to be seen whether they are a good insurer or not. Number is 0845 5211258 Can't remember the name of the broker ... something like "One Bike" ![]() HTH, Pete |
